Title Possible repercussions on UK_US relations of publication of book by Colin Simpson (UK journalist) 'The Lusitania' about sinking of that vessel and possible National Broadcasting Company (NBC) sponsored undersea investigation (1974)
Description Mr Durnford-Slater who works for a company involved in undersea diving and submarine work was approached by NBC to do on their behalf an exploration by diver and submarine of the Lusitania. Durnford-Slater's company thought that the NBC was trying to prove a theory that the Lusitania was, in fact, not torpedoed by the Germans but by the British.
